A number of workshops will complement the main conference program. Papers accepted in any of the workshops are published in the proceedings of the event, which is an open-access volume in the Book Series on Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments Series (IOS Press). The proceedings are available here.
13th International Workshop on Intelligent Environments Supporting Healthcare and Well-being (WISHWell 2024)
The workshop will bring together researchers from both industry and academia from various disciplines to contribute to this new edition of the International Workshop on Intelligent Environments Supporting Healthcare and Well-Being. This event previously joined forces with the International Workshop “PervaSense – Situation recognition and medical data analysis in Pervasive Health environments” and the workshop on “Smart Healthcare and Healing Environments”. Healthcare environments (within the hospital and the home) are extremely complex and challenging to manage from an IT and IS perspective, as they are required to cope with an assortment of patient conditions under various circumstances with a number of resource constraints. Pervasive healthcare technologies seek to respond to a variety of these pressures by integrating them within existing healthcare services. It is essential that intelligent pervasive healthcare solutions are developed and correctly integrated to assist health care professionals in delivering high levels of patient care. It is equally important that these pervasive solutions are used to empower patients and relatives for self-care and management of their health to provide seamless access for health care services.

13th International Workshop on the Reliability of Intelligent Environments (WoRIE 2024)
This workshop is motivated by the need to develop higher quality Intelligent Environments (IEs) and to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Developing IEs is challenging due to the inherent unreliability of sensors, occasional instability of networks, and users challenging systems in unforeseen circumstances. The complexity arises from the fact that certain applications bear significant responsibility, especially in scenarios where they are entrusted with the well-being of humans. Consider, for instance, the growing interest in developing systems to support independent living. These systems aim to provide reassurance to elderly individuals and their families, relying on the system to address various needs, including safety concerns such as detecting falls or signs of illness. Another critical area is unmanned cars and other autonomous systems designed to undertake tasks with potential disastrous consequences if malfunctions occur. Given the complex nature of IEs, it is crucial for our community to establish appropriate standards and methodologies that inspire confidence in their development. This workshop therefore aims to serve as a forum whereby researchers and practitioners can actively discuss about how to make IEs more reliable, safer, and securer, as well as increasing user confidence in them.

4th International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET 2024)
Multimedia content, ranging from text, images, videos, to audio, obtained from users and physical devices, paves the way for a novel research avenue centered on the analysis and interpretation of multi-modal information. This research is giving place to Social Intelligent Environments as the result of a combination of IEs and online social networks (OSN) as the primary source of multimedia content. This workshop seeks mechanisms adept at extracting, fusing, and analyzing data from multiple sources based on Artificial Intelligence techniques, emphasizing the inherent data heterogeneity characteristic of OSN integrated as part of any Intelligent Environment.
